Elaine McMichael is a visual artist whose primary medium is acrylics, however, her work includes experimentation with mixed media, watercolor, computer graphics, mural painting, and calligraphic lettering. Her latest explorations in media are her Digital Art Images.  Primarily an artist who delights in capturing the beauty of nature and the wonders of the environment in Maine, the gamut of her subject matter ranges from expressing political themes and social issues to communicating through portraiture, exploring whimsy and capturing enchantment in particular places. Her art evokes places she has been, the connections she makes with people, her recollections of travel and the discovery of new neighborhoods. Elaine majored in fine Arts at Emmanuel College and went on to receive Master of Education and Doctor of Education degrees from the University of Massachusetts.  Her lifelong focus has been the visual arts, as an art teacher, an art director and as a college professor. Elaine, currently is a full time artist working in Bridgton, Maine. Elaine is currently showing at Roux & Cyr Gallery, Portland, ME. She is represented by the Cape Cod Art Center capecodartcenter.org.  She is a member of National Association of Digital Artists NaDa. Elaine was recently named a master artist at Newburyport Art Association Newburyportartassociation.org. A member of several art associations, her paintings have won awards and have been exhibited throughout New England and the Eastern United States. Her paintings hang in numerous private collections.
