ELIZABETH HAMMOND - PASTEL, CHARCOAL & ACRYLIC

"My whole life has been a journey in the arts and with my family.  A very long time ago I began drawing as a fashion design student in Los Angeles and then graduated as an Art major from CA State U. Northridge.   I realized then that the human figure became the most challenging subject for me to interpret…and it still is!  Now, spending half my time in Maine, I’ve become enchanted with my surroundings. From the lakes to the ocean, the mountains and the woods, the light here is so different than the light in California.  I’m fascinated with both the intimacy and the grandness of this magical Maine!"

“Nobody sees a flower - really - it is so small it takes time.  We haven’t time - and to see takes time - like to have a friend takes time.” - Georgia O'Keefe
